2011 Bodegas Verum  Roblé

  • Appellation:  Vino de la Tierra de Castilla, Spain
  • Grape Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
  • ABV: 14%

Roblé has a clear deep ruby color with a rose colored lip.  Its aromatic nose presents dried black currants and cherries, mint, oak, anise, fennel, clove, and dark chocolate.  On the palate the wine is balanced with a dry medium-full body, fresh acidity, and dry tannins.  This flavorful wine includes dried cherries and black fruits, plums, tobacco, baking spices, mint, wet gravel, graphite shavings, and oak.  These pleasant flavors linger for some time.  Roblé is  ready to drink and can be enjoyed with rich foods, ripe and buttery cheeses.  Value priced.  8/3/16

2012 Château Hostens-Picant Lvcuvllvs

  • Appellation:  Sainte-Foy Bordeaux
  • Grape Varietal: Merlot 80%, Cabernet Franc 20%
  • ABV: 14%

Lvcuvllvs has a clear deep ruby color.  Its aromatic youthful nose shows ripe red fruits, green bell peppers, black cherries, clove, and graphite.  On the palate the wine is balanced with a bone-dry medium-full body, fresh acidity, and dry full tannins.  This flavorful wine includes black cherries, black fruits, plums, anise, baking spices, ripe red berries, wet gravel, and oak.  These pleasant flavors linger for some time.  Lvcuvllvs has potential to age but pairs well now with rich foods, hard and buttery cheeses.  A great value for the price.  8/10/16
